The voting period is open March 22 (10AM) -24 (6PM), 2022.

The Chief Returning Officer (CRO) organizes the official elections of the SUS, this includes both regular and special elections. The CRO will develop the electoral calendar, which, when approved by General Council, calls an official election.

SUS Election Guidelines
Do you have ideas about how to improve our faculty and university as a whole? Looking to make a lasting impact within the Science and Arts & Science community at McGill? The Science Undergraduate Society holds elections for the Executive Council every Winter semester. The SUS represents the voice of all Science and Arts & Science students within the McGill community. The SUS members provide events and services for the SUS body and work with various departmental and faculty associations at McGill.
Students enrolled full-time in either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts & Science are eligible for election to a position on the SUS Executive Council while ONLY full-time Bachelor of Science students may run for election as a Representative to SSMU and as the Science Senator.

Guidelines for Nominees:
Nominees may only run for 1 position
Nominees must obtain 50 signatures from the SUS student body, with the exception of the President, who must obtain 75 signatures
Nominees must meet with and receive the incumbent executive's signature of the position they are running for
Nominees wishing to run for the position of President must have at minimum 1 year of experience on the SUS executive, any departmental council, or have held the position of Representative to SSMU, or Science Senator.
Nominees wishing to run for the position of Vice President Finance must have held a position on the SUS Finance Committee or had been a departmental VP Finance.
The Electoral Calendar:
Preliminary Candidates Meeting: Potential candidates can learn about the structure of the SUS elections, including rules and the electoral calendar with the CRO.
Nomination Period (12 days): Potential candidates can collect the required amount of signatures to ratify their candidacy. If there are less than 2 nominees per position, this period will be extended by 4 days. Nomination forms will be provided by Elections SUS, and forms must be given to the CRO by the end of the nomination period.
Candidates Meeting: Official candidates meet with the CRO to review campaign rules and guidelines.
Campaign Period (5+ days): official candidates campaign for their candidacy.
Meet the Candidates: Constituents can meet the official electoral candidates to discuss and ask questions about their platforms.
Voting Period (3+ days): Constituents under the SUS will vote for a candidate for each elected position.

Nomination Period: February 25th (12:00 AM) - March 13th (6:00 PM)
Candidate Meeting: March 13th at 6:00 PM via Zoom
Campaign Period: March 14th (12:00 AM) - March 21st (11:59 PM)
Meet the Candidates: March 16th at 6:30 PM via Zoom
Voting: March 22nd (10:00 AM) - March 24th (6:00 PM)
Results by: March 24th
